UX Sound

Sofascore is a live score app that offers sports enthusiasts a direct, data-driven overview of game progress and resultsfor 25 sports - clearly structured, without unnecessary distractions.

Together with the Sofascore team, we developed a series of short, functional sound modules emphasizing key live sport event moments: Game Score, Game Start & Finish and Notification.

One of the challenges was the app's live notifications dynamic which can easily become overwhelming to users because of their frequency and repetitiveness during a match day, race day or fight night.
Another challenge was to translate typical associations from sport - excitement, movement, attention - into a modern, digital and distinctive sound language without slipping into stereotypical stadium noises or sound logos.

The result is a reduced, high-quality sound world that is sporty but not intrusive. The sounds are clear, simple and at the same time striking - and create an acoustic identity that consciously sets itself apart from the competition:
